EnergySavvy and NSL on the front page of TechCrunch

Today we launched our interactive home energy calculator, powered by EnergySavvy, a Seattle-based start-up.  EnergySavvy approached us and asked if we would like to test drive their new online energy assessment tool, and we were happy to oblige.  Their tool is easy, interactive, and highly accurate compared to most energy calculators you might find out there.  TechCrunch, one of the largest technology blogs in the US, agrees with us and wrote a front-page post about EnergySavvy’s pioneering application and Next Step Living’s involvement as their first customer.

We would love for you to test out this new tool (link above) and send us any feed back or recommendations you might have.  It only takes 2-3 minutes and there are pictures involved.  Enjoy!

I liked it and think community college Green Programming web pages may also be good sites for linking to the calculator…both to educate and generate potential customers.

This may be more for EnerySavvy than NSL, but it seems like it couldn’t hurt to include a couple optional questions for anyone who wanted to fill in their total annual fossil fuel and electricity costs (or an “unknown” option). Your responding consultants could likely tell more about lifestyle usages and the home envelope and systems from this data, especially if the respondent had incorrectly selected “efficient” instead of “average” for attic insulation, etc.
